“Higashiyama Kageroi” machiya house lies within the beautifully preserved city of Kanazawa – introducing you to a history and lifestyle of traditional Japan that will surprise even the most seasoned visitors.

On the 2nd floor, find two Japanese-style rooms coloured in deep ultramarine blue and red. These vibrant, calming "Kanazawa colours" represent the city's rich geiko and samurai history. Red served as a backdrop to the geiko and maiko entertainers and blue was a colour worn exclusively by Kanazawa's samurai.
