‘Higashiyama Kageroi’ machiya house: just a short walk from the Asano River and the historic Higashi Chaya Tea District in Kanazawa city. This elegant machiya house is decorated with white earthen walls, rich wooden features, and Kanazawa's distinct ‘kawara’ tile roof.
Experience the authentic atmosphere of a Kanazawa machiya, as you make yourself at home. On top top floor, discover Japanese-style rooms colored in deep ultramarine blue and red - historically classic ‘Kanazawa colors’ representative of the city's rich geiko and samurai history. Red was often used to as a backdrop to geiko and maiko entertainers, while blue was a colour exclusively enjoyed by Kanazawa's aristocrats and samurai warriors.
This renovated machiya house features modern facilities such as floor heating, luxurious bath lined with “Noto Hiba” wood, dining table and other modern comforts, and more.
