'Shiori’ machiya house: a traditional holiday house (vacation rental) located in the historical samurai residences of Nagamachi. This machiya is inspired by the motif of the moon and samurai’s fascination with ‘tsukimi’ (the ancient Japanese custom of moon-viewing).
Gather with friends and family in the modern kitchen and dining area to enjoy a meal while admiring the artwork - an interpretation of the moon. Made of red lacquer and gold leaf, admire the crafts that have a long been a tradition to the Kanazawa region. Relax in the tea room-inspired Japanese room (which can be converted into a sleeping area), or have a seat in a chair to take in the view of the serene traditional Japanese garden.
Upstairs, find a Western and Japanese-style bedroom adorned with gold and silver, and an additional toilet for your convenience. This renovated Kanazawa machiya house also includes modern facilities such as floor heating, WiFi, IH stovetop, washing machine, and more.
