From the wooden gate welcoming you to Hikoso-machi KINNOMA, tiled roofing, lattice windows & doors – each element has been carefully preserved, which allows for you to truly appreciate the architecture of these traditional houses.

The Japanese garden that sits in front features bamboo, ume plum blossoms, and the matsu tree – all quintessential greenery to represent the auspicious motif of “sho-chiku-bai” (松竹梅). From the living room, you can view another spectacular garden – from the stone-paved pathway to the Shirakawa sand, this one has been designed to be colorful all-year long. The particular Japanese maple variety in this garden bears brightly colored red leaves throughout the year.
