'Kagabi' machiya: 4 neighboring private Japanese holiday house rentals just a short walk from Kanazawa city's famous Higashi Chaya Tea District. Each house is inspired by and showcases a traditional Kanazawa craftwork - yuzen dyeing, mizuhiki knotted ornaments, colorful temari balls, and bamboo.

Each machiya house boasts a private entrance, Japanese-style tatami room, western-style bedroom, 'hinoki' wood bathroom, 2 toilets, internet access and more to make you feel at home. As Kanazawa has a flourishing food culture, there are plenty of amazing places to dine at throughout your stay (Omicho Market even has restaurants open from 8AM), or to pick up local delicacies & bakeries to enjoy in your machiya. However, if you are interested in making a reservation at a kitchen-included machiya, reserve the 'Kagabi Yuzen' machiya house.

Choose to stay in one of our beautifully renovated traditional Japanese house (machiya) to make your time in Kanazawa unforgettable. If you are traveling to Japan with a larger group, you can even reserve 2~4 houses together!

Is this a hotel in Kanazawa?
No, this is not a hotel in Kanazawa. Our machiya homes are self-catering, private Japanese-style holiday houses (vacation rentals), which are reserved exclusively for 1 group per day. (Guests will not be sharing the house with any other guests). As there are no staff on-site at the house, our traditional Japanese machiya homes are perfect for travelers interested in immersing themselves in local culture in Kanazawa!

If you require assistance during your stay, our friendly staff are available via email or telephone between 10AM~7PM. (Emergency assistance is available 24 hours a day.)
Please note that as this is a self-catering holiday house, and not a hotel, housekeeping during your stay is available for guests who stay 4 night or more.
However, our staff are available for garbage pick-up, to provide additional towels during your stay, and more. We also encourage our guests to reuse bath towels to help us reduce the consumption of water.
