'Kagabi Temari’ machiya house: one of four neighboring private machiya holiday houses, each showcasing a private Kanazawa art installation created by a local artist. This house features ‘temari’, which are colorful crafts made of embroidered silk thread that are traditional to Kanazawa.
Take in the open architecture, and relax in the calming atmosphere of the traditional Japanese room, decorated with temari artwork. Slide open the shoji doors for an expansive space, or close the shoji doors to create a private room. (This space can also convert into a sleeping area with futon bedding.) Unwind in the authentic ‘hinoki’ wood bathtub made of fragrant cypress.
Upstairs is a large Western-style bedroom, a desk and a spacious sofa that overlooks the suspended temari artwork. This renovated Kanazawa machiya house also includes modern facilities such as floor heating, WiFi, and more. Reserve this machiya alongside the neighboring machiya homes when staying with a larger group of family and friends.
