'Kagabi Mizuhiki’ machiya house: one of four neighboring private machiya holiday houses, each showcasing a private Kanazawa art installation created by a local artist. This house features creative re-interpretations of ‘mizuhiki’, a knotted ornament important in the Japanese culture of gift-giving. Kanazawa, in particular, is famous for its ‘mizuhiki’ craftworks.

Take in the open architecture of this traditional space. Relax in the calming atmosphere of the traditional Japanese room, decorated mizuhiki artwork. Slide open the shoji doors for an expansive space, or close the shoji doors to create a private room. (This space can also convert into a sleeping area with futon bedding.)
